Everything You Should Know

Introduction- About ICAI & Placement

• The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is a professional body that conducts campus placements for its students who have cleared their Chartered Accountancy Final exams.
• The ICAI conducts campus placements in various cities across the country, typically for its students who have completed the CA course and are looking for employment opportunities.
• These placements are usually conducted in the months of September and January and are open to all students who have completed their CA course from the ICAI.
• ICAI has recently declared the date for the Campus Placement Drive for November 2022 students.

Objective of Campus Placement

• During the campus placements, various companies visit the ICAI campus and conduct interviews for eligible candidates so that they can get best talents and recruit accordingly who is ideal for them.
• The companies that participate in the ICAI campus placements include top accounting firms, consulting firms, and other companies from various industries.
• The ICAI provide this platform for their new members to get recruited in different sectors across the country.

Process of Participation

• Candidates who get qualified in November examination can register for January Campus Drive.
• Candidates who passed out prior to November 2022 examinations but could not apply to regular campus due to certain reasons, specified below, are now eligible for February-March 2023 campus placement and their online registration begins on 26th December 2023.
• Candidates who have completed AICITSS / Advance MCS /Articleship but are yet to attain 21 years of age to secure ICAI membership, are required to seek special permission from CMI&B, for participating in the Campus placement programme.

Campus Placement Process & Registration Fees

• The whole process of ICAI Campus Placement is regulated online and professional aspirants have to register ICAI placement portal i.e., CMI&B.
• The registration for November, 2022 pass out candidate begins on 15 January, 2023 and will end on 31 January, 2023.
• The final date for registration for all categories is January 31, 2023, and no extensions will be granted. For those who only select a small center, registration will remain open until March 18, 2023.
• The registration fees for Campus Placement Drive are ₹500.
• After registration is completed, the participating companies will shortlist the candidate according to their academic records, experience and mostly rank-holders.
• Once candidate have signed the declaration form and not joined the company, candidate have to pay a Commitment Charges of ₹5,000 to ICAI.

Centres for Interviews

• ICAI conducts interview in two parts, one is a big center and second one is small center.
• Big center include Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi & Pune.
• Small center include Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Chandīgarh, Coimbatore, Durgapur, Ernakulam, Indore, Kanpur, Lucknow, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Rajkot, Ranchi, Raipur, Thane, Vadodara & Visakhapatnam.
• The registration for big and small centers are done separately.

Interview Related Details and Schedule

• The timing for the Interviews on all days shall be from 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M as far as possible.
• Only shortlisted candidates, who mark consent in the Portal within the specified dates, would be allowed to appear for campus interviews.
• Interviews will be conducted through virtual mode on the platform convenient to the participating organization as per the roster prepared by ICAI.
• The link for attending the virtual interview will be shared by the concerned organization with all consented candidates on their registered e-mail ID.
• Candidates are advised to be online, preferably on their laptop or desktop with audio & visual facility, roughly 30 minutes prior to their interview slot.
• It is mandatory to attend the interview after giving consent to the organization before a candidate is finally selected by any organization.

Campus Placement Rules

• Candidate have to obtain membership number after passing CA Final examination or to provide with the date for obtaining membership number.
• Candidate has to complete MCS and advance IIT certification courses and quote their respective number in the registration form.
• Maximum of four companies can be selected by the candidate for the interview and required to give consent to the companies.
• ICAI has laid down the dress code to be followed by the candidates appearing for the interviews.
• The shortlisting status of various companies as well as information regarding Written/ Psychometric/ Interview tests etc. will go to the respective candidate’s login.
• In the event of not being selected for the bigger center but wishing to change to the smaller center, you can do so through the portal on 30th -31st March 2023 (up to 5:00 P.M.).
• If you are not in genuine need of a job, avoid registering for the Campus Placement Program.

Notes: Sharing of database for recruiters registered at S. No. 1, 2 & 3 centers begin on 1st February 2023. Sharing of database for recruiters registered at S No. 4 & 5 centers begins on 24th March 2023
