TCS Interview guide for CAs

The first round, which is called the written round, consists of 4 sections –

  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • English
  • Income Tax
  • Ind AS

Firstly, they will take a psychometric test and will shortlist you from there. Then they will send you a list of qualified candidates who will go ahead with the interview process. The first written round is called the Quantitative Aptitude Test, where reasoning ability and numerical sections are tested.

There are altogether 20 questions that must be attempted within 40 minutes. The questions are challenging but fundamentals, which a CA final candidate can easily do. After this, they will shortlist more than 50% of what vacancies they have. After that, they will tell you to register for the next step. Then they will schedule an interview.

To get ready for the technical round, visit us. In the interview, there will be a panel of four members. They will take your interview one by one. First off, HR will take your interview. This procedure is carried out in one round of 20-30 minutes. The HR will focus on questions like:

  • "Why do you want to join TCS?"
  • "Why do you want to join the IT sector from a CA background?"
  • "What do you think you can achieve in TCS and not in any other organization?"

After this, they will move to the technical round. Here, they will ask you simple things such as accounting, taxations, and other questions based on the medium. The panel members can question anything related to the candidate: personality, education, family, hobbies, general knowledge, etc.

A panel interview is a discussion with at least three to four individuals from a recruiting group. The panel may incorporate your expected manager, an HR agent, or other leaders. In a panel interview, every part has a chance to ask you inquiries about your experience, capabilities, and objectives.

Some candidates who perform very well in the earlier round are directly considered for the final HR round. The key to crossing this round is to remain confident, calm, and transparent throughout the thought process. To get ready for an interview with experienced mentors, register here.

The process will be that the Project Manager will call you and take another interview. He'll ask you about which other role you would be comfortable in. He explains to you that there is an RNG team if you want any field in the financial sector, and you can mail them and consult about any role in which you'd like to work.

There are multiple roles once you get in. You can even get your roles changed after you've been selected. You can work in your area of expertise. The timings for chosen people are flexible, and they also pay allowances if you're allocated in more sets than usual.

How to prepare for a TCS interview?

Start preparing with all the basics. You shouldn't lack basic knowledge related to your work field. Prepare for the HR round, especially as it is a turning around. The way you answer questions like "Why this company and why not any other field?" determine a lot about you.

You should have basic knowledge of taxation in accounts and management. They will also ask a few tricky questions—situation questions like how you will coordinate with the manager if some issue arises.

As for the Aptitude Test, read the questions carefully, take your time, and tick wisely. There is a combination of tricky, knowledge, and general inquiries. You can do it if you're calm and composed, and use your brains and sail through it. If you want to prepare for Aptitude tests and give mock tests, check out camonk.com!

Any specific thing TCS will be looking for?

Initially, they'll ask you which you want to get into, and then they'll ask you questions related to that. There is nothing to be specific about here. It solely depends on the interviewer's perspective. To prepare for such interviews, visit camonk.com.
